TBE Buffer is the electrophoresis buffer for polyacrylamide and agarose gels. TBE has a higher buffering capacity than TAE. It is usually applied in a concentration of 1X for polyacrylamide gels and 0.5X for agarose gels and "band shifts" (gel mobility shift assay).
